From the Latin word meaning “to flow” or “to change,” the international group of Fluxist artists combined a do-it-yourself, anti-art way of thinking with with political and social activism. The goal of the Fluxist artist was not the product, and certainly not fame from the product, but in the artist’s creation of art. The media involved was as eclectic as its artists: sound art, spoken word, collages, music, video, and poetry, to name a few.
