Hello wonderful followers!

I am currently looking for another person to help run/post/update this blog.

The only requirements are:

  • A love of art and art history
  • Small amount of spare time to post art
  • Preferably some prior knowledge of art and its history

I would really love another person to help keep this blog updated as much as possible.

If you are interested, you can ask me on my tumblr or ask for my email.

Thank you all!

Melissa

kimbellart asked: We love your blog. Is it possible for you to include credit information with the featured artwork? We noticed it is on some posts but not others. That would be a great service to your readers who wish to learn more about a particular painting or sculpture. They would also be able to find where to view the art in person. Thank you!

Yes! This is something that we try and do on every post. Adding more context information to the images requires a bit more research and time, and we would all absolutley love to be able to provide more information, but schedules are tight at times!

With that said, I have opened up the submissions option. Feel free to submit pieces that you are interested in! Thank you all so much for following :)

Hello all!

Thank you to everyone for following! Fuck yeah art history is really growing! I have recently added a list of tags so everyone can easily navigate through the general categories.

Not ALL tags are in the list but I’m working on getting them all organized. Hope you are all having a nice day/evening!

lurkaholic asked: I love your blog and I was wondering if you ever post photography. There are some great 19th century photographers such and Gustave Le Gray, Mathew Brady, and Julia Margaret Cameron. I love the imagery and I am always looking for photos from the history of photograph that I forget about to re-blog on my other blog photosthatdontsuck.tumblr.com but unofrtunatly I rarely see them.

Thank you! There are a couple of other people who post on this blog, so there is a chance that one of us may post photography. Each of us have our own preference, but we generally post paintings and sculpture.

shewaslearningtolove-deactivate asked: I work at MoMA, and I just wanted to say that I am so glad someone is doing this!!

:) Of course! Tumblr just didn’t seem complete without a fuck yeah art history.

likearaindropfilledwithgoldust asked: I work at the National Gallery, London and I just want to say that I love your blog!

Wow! Lucky! Thank you!

ataraxiaaither asked: Do you know who made this sculpture??

I love your Tumblr, it`s very hard to find real art.

I recommend using TinEye, a reverse image search, to learn who the artist is. TinEye is a useful tool that will search for similar images, which will quickly lead you to websites with the artist information.

elpanoptico asked: Hey, amazing tumblr!! art history is the best

Thanks! Art itself is indescribably wonderful!

sb-wilde asked: Hello, I was just curious if you possibly knew where this mural is?

I am not sure. But here is the link to the original photo on Flikr. Perhaps through some searching you can find where the photographer lives, and that may lead you to an answer.

ariadnebelle asked: Hi!

Good day!

I have a question: What painting is shown in this video?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1FavPcR618

I've been wondering what the title of the painting is.

Hope you could answer me soon.
